Zafar Momin

Dr. Zafar Momin is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Strategy & Policy at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School.

Zafar has over 30 years of global leadership experience in strategy consulting, as a Senior Partner and Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group, A.T. Kearney, and L.E.K. Consulting, and in industry as the Executive Vice-President of a multi-billion-dollar diversified conglomerate, and in various general management and technical positions at United Technologies Corporation and General Motors Corporation, respectively. He is often cited in the media on topics related to transportation and mobility, digital economy and emerging markets. He has spoken at several regional conferences and attended World Economic Forums in Davos, Middle East and Asia.

He currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee at PETRONAS Chemicals Group, and on the School Advisory Committee of Opera Estate Primary School in Singapore. In the past, amongst others, Zafar has also served on the Board of Directors of Mapletree Logistics, the Center for Non-Profit Leadership and Asia-focused private equity companies.

Prior to NUS, he taught for over a decade in the MBA programme at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University as an Adjunct Associate Professor, with a focus on strategic decision-making and strategy implementation. He holds a Ph.D. from Singapore Management University, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and Pune University
