Taisei Matsuki, Senior Climate Change Specialist, Environment Department, East Asia and Pacific Region, the World Bank (Singapore). Taisei has 19 years of experience in climate change policies (especially mitigation and carbon pricing) and climate finance in East Asia and the Pacific Region (Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam), Eastern Europe and Central Asia, South Asia, Middle East, and Africa at the World Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). He also has 17 years of experience in various public finance instruments, such as International Financial Institution lending operations, ODA loans, project finance, and corporate finance for projects in the agriculture, energy, oil, and gas, and transport sectors at the World Bank, EBRD, and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). He is now leading the World Bank’s support for carbon pricing instrument and carbon market development in Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. He obtained master’s degree (development economics) from Yale Graduate School and bachelor’s degree (international relations) from University of Tokyo.
