Unleash Your Leadership Potential Leadership

The transition from an individual contributor to manager is one of the most difficult, yet critical shifts in any leader's career. Most new managers are promoted for their exceptional performance as an individual. However, being an effective manager demands a deeper awareness of one's leadership impact and ability to drive team performance.

This programme is designed to help rising leaders identify and refine their personal leadership styles, develop their emotional intelligence, and acquire the skills that will enable them to bring out the best in others.

Over five days, you will gain perspectives on how you are perceived, learn to connect with others, and identify areas of growth. The programme also includes a small group coaching session that will help you establish a personal development plan that you can implement within a three to five-year timeframe for sustained career advancement.

Vivien Lim

Vivien is Deputy Head of the Department of Management and Organisation at NUS Business School. She received her PhD in Organisational Behaviour from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also the Editor-in Chief of Applied Psychology: An International Review.

Vivien's expertise is in the areas of workplace health, leadership, job loss, employee misbehaviours and discipline, and the impact of technology on the workplace. Her research has been published in internationally refereed journals, as well as cited in media such as The Straits Times, Business Times, Harvard Business Review, The Globe and Mail, Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and on radio and TV channels such as CBS and ABC.

Vivien has received numerous commendations and recognition for her achievements in teaching. She was a recipient of Departmental, Faculty and University Outstanding Educator Awards, as well as Dean's Commendations from 1999 to 2013. These awards, given by the University, recognise faculty members who have demonstrated high levels of excellence and commitment to teaching. As a three-time winner of the Annual Teaching Excellence Award, Vivien has been placed on the University's Teaching Honour Roll. She is a member of the Teaching Excellence Council at NUS Business School. She was formerly Sub-Dean of the faculty and was involved in spearheading the MSc/PhD (by research) programme.

• Designed for participants of the Emerging Leaders Programme (ELP) and Leadership Development Programme (LDP)
• 3, 6 or 12 strictly confidential two-hour sessions over a period of 3, 6 or 12 months
• Face-to-face, telephone or Skype
• Goal-setting, creation and refinement of an individualized personal action plan
• Evaluation of personal progress over the course of the coaching period

Participants of the ELP and LDP who would like to:
• Fully understand and leverage their leadership styles and strengths
• Develop a clear personal leadership vision and plan
• Understand and bridge the gap between business challenges and underlying leadership issues
